"He has been with me everywhere I have gone."
Genesis 35:3
This week has been eventful with a few trips back and forth to Toronto. We had a lot going on to get ready before our Day 1 coming up this month! Before starting IVF, a few tests are necessary for pre cautionary measures and baselines. I mentioned them in my last post and this week I had all of my pre IVF ultrasounds. The first few are pelvic/abdominal and internal. Today I had the sonohysterogram which shows information about the contour of the uterus and potency of the fallopian tubes. Essentially, a thin catheter is placed through the cervix and into the uterus. Normal saline is instilled through the catheter which allows the physician to see the organs clearly. We are so happy and thankful that everything is all clear and ready to go. All good results! My physician today said, "this is a great place to put a baby!" We are so overjoyed. God is so good and we have been holding onto His promise for years. One of the coolest things about this journey is seeing His active hand at work in all of this.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Philippians 4:6
Before my procedure today we had a meeting with my physician about our treatment plan. We chatted about different options and came up with the official plan...and signed it! Day 1 of my cycle comes up again this month on the 25th. We will call in my Day 1 then and go into the clinic on Day 3. As mentioned in my last post, I will then start birth control for a few weeks and then onto the ovary stimulation which involves all of the injections. The injections will take place over 2-3 weeks. I will be going into the clinic pretty much every day for monitoring in case dosages need to be adjusted.
We are so excited, and in the mean time we are enjoying this March winter with lots of wood burning fires and staying cozy! My diet is also into it's 4th month of getting ready for baby! We have always eaten generally pretty healthy and as organic as possible, but it has been on lock down! I am loving it and aiming to continue it after baby arrives as well. I will admit... I devoured an incredible chocolate mousse dessert at a friends wedding last Saturday - cheat night! Delish... as I haven't had dessert in a while!
I have posted a few photographs of the last week or so below. I love how pretty food can look and love taking pictures of it's bright colours! I have a lot of clementines and avocados in my diet so I couldn't resist! I also posted some photos of our clinic from today. It is a large facility that encompasses the 15th floor of a building in Toronto so I only captured a few shots. It is very bright with off white walls and has rustic/winter decor, which makes me feel right at home!
